Ottawa is always alive with the sounds of music – from music festivals to live performances of pop, folk, blues, rock, celtic, jazz, alternative and classical music to Opera Lyra and the National Arts Centre Orchestra’s astounding performances. There is always something to listen to in Ottawa!

The Downtown area is a mix of residential and commercial neighborhoods. Parliament Hill is at the north of the city at the limit of the Ottawa River facing Quebec’s province. On this part of the town, you can see all major government buildings, museums, including the Supreme Court of Canada and the National Gallery. Walking distance from the parliament is the Byward Market, a popular place for its restaurants, clubs, condos and apartments and shopping. This is a great place to go out with friends and family.
On the south of the city the neighborhood of Centretown made of office towers and some apartments and condominiums this very urban community consists primarily of small apartment buildings and large old homes that many have been modify to apartments, along with small stores, restaurants and bars along the major streets such as Bank and Elgin.

Facing the Parliament on the north at cross the Ottawa river the City of Gatineau blended with three former cities Hull, Aylmer and the center of Gatineau.

15 - 25 minutes driving west from downtown are Kanata, Barrhaven and Stittsville and east Orleans. There is also small towns and rural communities such as Constance Bay, Kars, Metcalfe, Munster, Manotick, Osgoode, Richmond, Naven and Rockland. Ottawa Map
